I bought the Delta 28-206 enclosed base band saw just today, and I got the mobile base with it so I could set it all up together. It's great being able to move it around, since I have limited space and lots of power tools. The only complaint is I find it a little wobbly, but it probably won't be a problem. And the 94 bucks it cost seems a little high, but I'll someday forget how much it cost, right? I'm definitely glad I bought it. It lifts the machine and sets it back down very easily, but won't roll over a deep expansion ...more

Very strong - no wobble or shifting with the rubber feet down. Perfect fit for the 14 inch bandsaws. I added some rubber gasket (an old bicycle tire tube) to the corners to increase the friction between the stand and the mobile base. Rolling the bandsaw anywhere is easy, and never feels like tipping. Definitely recommended, especially for the smaller shop. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-05 Summary: Excellent Mobile Base ... Delta has stumbled a lot in recent years, but I must say that their mobile bases are simply the best out there. I bought a 250 lb Jet JSG-6DC belt/disc sander, built a wooden cabinet for it to sit on, and mounted the cabinet on this base. It is a snap to assemble, rolls smoothly, steers well with its two fixed casters and one swiveling one, the single foot lever is easy to actuate, it is rock-solid in the down position, and it is easy to level. I bought the Delta 28-206 14" enclosed base band saw, and the Platinum accessory package which included the 50-274 mobile base. There were instructions on how to assemble the base, but not on how to attach it to my band saw. It looked like it was supposed to replace the 4" thick base that came with the saw, but it didn't fit. It was about a 1/4" to narrow for the band saw base to fit in it. I solved it by putting the regular base back on, and drilling holes in it to bolt the mobile base to the standard base. I do both wood and metal sanding. it is designed for the metal shop. It is more than one needs for wood. I see that Delta makes a wood table for the disk that you can buy now. It is like the one thay have on there sanding center. This is good for small parts. If you have long parts get a horizontal 40in belt sander. This machine is heavy duty and the disk and belt run at different speeds. No small machine shop shoud be with out it. ...more

This machine can generate huge volumes of very tiny / lung-unfriendly dust; consider using a dust collection system with HEPA bags. For big jobs, I also turn on the workshop exhaust fan and wear a quality respirator. With the dust pick-up accessory installed for the disc sander, two 4" suction hoses are needed -- one for the belt and one for the disk. Some are home-made but the heavy pieces like the DJ20 jointer are on Delta bases. Like the other Delta bases, this is top quality. I had some initial concerns about putting this heavy jointer on a mobile base, but I am very pleased that I did. After discovering how well they are made and how well they work when I got my first one with my Unisaw, I don't even think twice now when I buy a new machine, I always get the Delta base to go with it. I just got a DJ20. This is one big, heavy jointer. It's about 475 lbs, about the same as a Unisaw, but this jointer is very long and possibly awkward to move.
